Combined Training / Eventers Challenge / Express Eventing 2 24th September 2023
Event Archived
Combined Training is a two phase competition – starting with a dressage test and then a round of 9-15 show jumps. The number of faults (jumping and time) incurred in the showjumping are deducted from the total (not percentage) of good marks received in the dressage. The combination with the highest score will be the winner. Entrants are allocated specific times and must be ready to compete at those times or risk losing the opportunity to compete.
Express Eventing involves a dressage phase quickly followed by a single, integrated jumping phase that will involve approximately 8-10 showjumping and 12-14 cross-country elements spread out over a 1200-1500m course. Time and jumping penalties will be accrued in line with BE scoring (except that there is no ‘grace period below the optimum time’.
The Eventers Challenge is “Express Eventing” without the dressage, and a slightly shorter cross country course.
All three competitions will include 50cm classes. All classes except the 50cm are eligible for the Chilham Championship 2023. Eventing tabbards must be worn for all phases – inserts must be printed from our system (available when times are published).
A body protector must be worn in the the Eventer Challenge and Express Eventing as the course involves fixed fences. Combined Training competitors are NOT permitted to jump any fixed fence in the jumping warmup area unless they are wearing a body protector.
The annual Equine Influenza Vaccinations applies to this competition
Equine passports must accompany all horses and will be randomly inspected
