Course Guide - overview

Chilham Park cross-country course is set in over 300 acres of traditional parkland. It was purpose built by Scott Brickell, whose credits include working at Burghley. With over a 100 fences in the park which range from 2’6” – ideal for encouraging young horses and novice riders, through to professionally built BE fences for the more experienced. In 2010, further BE fences were added to the course to include a BE80(T) and Novice course. In addition to a number of portable cross country fences, Chilham has added a new schooling sunken road and steps.

We aim to have the course open throughout the year, however we occasionally have to close sections of the course to preserve the going.  We have a schooling field which has a variety of mainly portable fences which is open all the time.
