Chilham Castle International
29 July – 30 July 2017
Entry Open: 26th June 2017
This event is bookable online through the British Eventing website:
The entire showground is very compact with the start of the cross country being no more that 2 mins walk from the bottom of the lorry park. The ground drains very quickly and stands up well to wet weather.
We use a BE approved irrigation system to make sure the ground is prepared to the highest possible level.
The CIC* Dressage takes place on the Chilham Castle lawn, just underneath the Castle offering a stunning backdrop and spectacular views.
The national classes take place on the flattest part of the estate on well-established old turf set beside the beautiful lake and looking up at Chilham Castle. The area is very quiet being set apart away from the tannoys and hustle of the rest of the competition. It is a short walk from the lorry park – so do allow a few extra minutes.
The show jumping is in a very spacious grass arena that sits at the very heart of the event. We try to run to times with a gap every 5 riders for multiple riders – we have a fantastic show jumping steward who makes this work brilliantly!
Our new cross-country course introduced in 2016 utilises additional areas of the estate and is well-received by competitors. Over the winter months, Chilham continued their long-term investment in land management and the development and maintenance of the cross country course, with new fences introduced for 2017.
All courses provide competitors with inviting and fair challenges at each level, with well-built fences over well-established, undulating parkland
